The Arbore Tribe

These Cushitic speaking people settled on west of waito river, which flows from the north to south in to the swampy plain which was once lake Stefanie. They are neighbor with Tsemay,Borena as well as Burji. The Arbore claims that they have always lived in their present territories, and know by their active trade that they have been practicing with their neighboring tribes for centuries.  It said that, they used to possess the monopoly of the Ivory trade, further they exchange cattle’s    for agricultural products for they do not practice their own agriculture as they only engaged raising cattle’s. They build their huts slightly oval and in shape.
